iCloud sync is not working since iOS 26.4 — what's going on?

Update: Apple has fixed this issue in iOS 26.4.1. Updating to iOS 26.4.1 resolves the sync problem.

A change introduced in iOS 26.4 is affecting iCloud sync in SchoolOrganizer. I’m aware of this issue and am monitoring it — a fix will need to come from Apple’s side.

In the meantime, fully closing the app and reopening it can help trigger a sync.

Can I use the app for free?

Yes - you can use it completely free for an unlimited time. Some features are paid, but you can also try them for free.

How can I adjust class times?

You can customize class times in Settings and configure them to your needs.

Can I add additional timetables for the next school year?

Absolutely. In the Timetables list you can add a new timetable. Homework, exams, and grades are managed per timetable, but they can be moved - and grades can also be viewed across timetables.

What in-app purchases are available?

ySchoolOrganizer is completely free to use. For advanced features, SchoolOrganizer Pro is available with the following options:

You can find all available upgrades in the app under Settings → SchoolOrganizer Pro.

How can I cancel my subscription?

Subscriptions are managed by Apple and can be cancelled directly in iOS Settings:

  1. Open the Settings app on your iPhone or iPad
  2. Tap your name at the top
  3. Tap Subscriptions
  4. Select the SchoolOrganizer subscription and tap Cancel Subscription

After cancellation, the subscription remains active until the end of the already paid period.

How can I get a refund?

Refunds are handled exclusively by Apple. You can request a refund directly through Apple:

  1. Go to reportaproblem.apple.com
  2. Sign in with your Apple ID
  3. Find the purchase and request a refund

Apple decides independently whether to approve refund requests.

I've purchased an upgrade, but my data isn't synchronized yet.

Please check if you have also unlocked the upgrade on your second device. This is free with the same Apple account and can be done by tapping on the ‘Restore Purchases’ button on the upgrade screen.

How can I add and edit subjects?

To add a new subject, go to Settings and tap Subjects, then tap the + button in the top right corner. Enter the subject name and confirm — the app automatically assigns a matching color based on the name.

Tap any subject to edit it. You can change:

  • Title — the subject name
  • Color — pick any color
  • Icon — choose between an abbreviation (up to 3 characters), an emoji, or a symbol
  • Default Teacher — automatically applied to new lessons for this subject
  • Default Room — automatically applied to new lessons for this subject

To delete a subject, swipe left on it in the list.

How can I change the color of free periods?

You can change the color of free lessons the same way as changing the color for specific subjects. You go to the subject list, select the free period and set a color.

How can I change period times?

Periods and breaks can be modified in the app settings. You can set a default duration for periods but you can modify each period with custom durations.

How can I add a homework quickly?

When you are sitting in a lesson and new homework is writing to the board you can quickly create it in your SchoolOrganizer with one of the following ways:

1) You can press and hold on the app icon on your home screen. Then you can select “Add homework” to create a new homework for the current lesson.

2) By pressing and holding you finger on a lesson in the timetable you can also create new homework for that specific subject.

3) If you are wearing an Apple Watch you can scribble or dictate new homework from there as well.

How can I weight grades according to their types?

You can weight grades by their types (e.g. 50/50) by activating the “Calculate Average by Grade Types” in the grades settings.

Then you can change the weights in the “Grade Type Weights” menu.

By default all types are weight equally.

Can I move homework, exams, and grades to another term?

Yes, homework, exams, and grades can be moved to a different term or school year at any time.

How it works:

  • Long-press an item in the list or open its detail view
  • Choose “Move to other term”
  • Select the destination term

Moving multiple items at once:

  1. Swipe over the list with two fingers — items are selected one by one as you swipe
  2. Tap individual items to add or remove them from the selection
  3. Long-press the selection and choose “Move to other term”

Important: The subject must exist in the destination term with the same name. For grades, the grade type must also exist in the destination term. If something is missing, the app will show you a message explaining what needs to be created first.

Why doesn't my Watch show any lessons?

Please open the app on both devices, on the watch and on the iPhone. The data will start to synchronize after that.

Can I synchronize data between multiple iCloud accounts?

You can share a read-only version of your timetable with others via iCloud. For example, students can share their timetables with their parents.

Why isn't my data trasfered from my first device to my second device?

Data is synchronized via your personal iCloud. So please make sure that you have enabled this and that you have enough storage space in your iCloud. Also, please enable the iCloud Drive functionality in the iCloud settings if it is still disabled.

The synchronization of the data happens in the background when the operating system has little to do. A permanently active power saving mode, poor internet connection or even a full device storage can cause the synchronization to be delayed. These are circumstances on which I, as an app developer, have no influence, but are determined and regulated by Apple.

Experience has shown that actively closing the app via the app switcher and then restarting the app can speed up the synchronization.

How can I add holidays?

To add holidays, go to Settings and tap Holidays. There you can select your state or region to automatically import all official school holidays.

You can also add custom holidays manually by tapping the + button. Enter a name and choose a start and end date.

Holidays are shown in the timetable so you always know when school is out.
